Another One Bites The Dust

Unread postby funderburk » Thu Oct 17, 2019 11:16 pm

I was scouting my way into a parcel of public land and cane across two fresh scrapes, fresh rubs, and a thick patch of brush covering the whole point I was attempting to cross over. I was actually headed into the backside of another parcel through this parcel. When I saw the hot sign, I immediately related it to bedding and figured they could be bedded 60 yards from me off that thick point.

I had made up my mind. I wasn’t going to make it to the original planned spot because this sign was too hot to walk by with the potential of bedding in front of me. So I dropped back, found a small oak, and began to slowly and quietly climb up.

I had deer all over me. It was non-stop action! A half hour before dark, this guy presented me with a great shot and I took it.

Congrats on getting in on some good action. Always nice. Congrats on buck.
I'm reason they call it hunting and not shooting.

Thanks! That was one thing I definitely wanted to work on this year. It was a huge confidence boost to sit down over hot sign like that. Felt like any minute he would emerge. And he finally did!
