Incredible..I have a few friends out that way who moved from Ontario and say they'll never move back as the hunting is just too good..I need to get out there :)
Congrats again what an experience and beauty moose!

I think all your hunts are epic, so when you call it epic in the 3rd sentence, I was in to the end.

Congratulations on another great hunt, and thank you for sharing.

I tend to get them after quartering and packing a moose or elk, and then trying to paddle the canoe. Specifically my triceps when I make corrective strokes, and my forearms for all the hard gripping one does. A short pack out is often worse for me, because rather than waste time with the packframe I just carry the loads on my shoulder which is pretty hard on your arms and core. Usually on a longer pack out I cant stand to make the trip back for my packframe unloaded, so I will carry a front quarter on my shoulder, even though I should know better by now. For me it seems to be a bad combination, I think compounded by the fact that I tend to not hydrate near enough on a multi day hunt, and my back country diet is not terribly good.

Basically its mostly my fault, but yeah, any time I dress and pack an animal, then try to paddle it any distance, particularly if the river is full of ledges and chop that I need to avoid when loaded up, I tend to get bad cramps.
They say millwrights can fix anything except a broken heart, but I've even got a tool that can do that!
