Ld, nice. I saw your post from live from the field and figured there was a good story. That’s fantastic to take one of the ground like that. Congratulations. Your off season scouting was well rewarded. Beautiful buck!

Well done! - I have been debating on trying something similar with one I have patterned where there is no place for a stand but I could sit the ground behind brush. You may have just motivated me assuming he sticks around until 10/1.

Great story as well. I enjoy reading the stories and seeing all the pictures from where you're hunting. The scouting tactics and terrain are a lot different than where I'm at but something about it makes me want to get in the woods. Well done Sir.

I would say 1/3 of my hunts take place on the ground. Maybe even more than that. It takes a little trial and error to get used to it, but it’s not as hard as people think. It can be surprisingly easy at times.

If you want some input, I’d be willing to help if you want. For this buck, I picked my spot off the aerial. When in the field I adjusted to what I felt was a better spot 15 yards away.
