Shot my biggest buck yesterday evening. I sat the morning in a funnel. Saw a 2.5 year old 8 point pushing a doe. I watched him leave her and go into a autumn olive thicket to bed down. In the middle of my grown up field is a bare multi truck walnut tree about 100 yds from the bedding. I got down out of my stand about 1:30 and made my move to the walnut tree. Got set up. About 6pm the 8 point comes out of bedding but doesn't offer me a shot. He looked really hyper. About 20 minutes later I hear some deep grunts and bushes being thrashed in the autumn olive bedding area. I hit my grunt once. The 12 pointer came out of the bedding on a string right towards my tree. I had to mah to stop him. Made the shot. He ran nd bedded down from me about 40yds. I hear gurgling. I couldn't see it was to thick. Waited a half hour to go get him. I got about 15 yds from him and he jumps up and runs off. I heard him run thru a thicket then I heard a crash. He sounded like a horse running out of there with his hooves pounding the ground. Gave him about another 20 minutes and got back on him. He only ran about another 70 yds and died.
Biggest thrill I've ever had deer hunting. I dragged him out on a beautiful moon lit night.

This deer was taken on 23 acres I've owned for 4 years. This was the first year I started getting mature bucks on camera and it was my second hunt of the year on the property. I feel blessed and humbled to be able to take one nice buck on public and one on my private. I'm going to Indiana next week

Super buck! Congrats
