Awesome documentation on the work needed to make it happen.
Makes me smile to see you young guys getting it done through hard work and determination.
Very sincere congrats!

About that spine thing.........sure makes the tracking job easy!

I say; don't worry about it, you'll be fine.

Thanks man. I shot one in the early season last year and hut it high from ducking the arrow. I also shot over one entirely 3 years ago. One is one too many lol and two is way to many. But I sure so love knowing the outcome when they drop on the spot

I'm not sure what to say about the high hits. You definitely have enough of them in a row, there is something going on. This buck didn't look like he dropped that much though. I remember in previous threads there was some discussion about target panic. One way to sort of internally check - when you are shooting at deer, what exactly are you trying to hit? The "whole chest" or a spot smaller than that?

Most of my bad hits have been due to not picking a spot, just sticking my pins on the chest and punching the trigger. In other words, they were more my fault than the deer moving or the notorious twig in the way or anything like that. Pick a hair and try to put your arrow through it. String jumping certainly happens sometimes and I don't know if your bow is louder than most or not, but if it doesn't sound louder to you compared to other people's bows you hear getting shot...I doubt that's the problem. Not all those shots were at super keyed up alert deer.

Great buck! Maybe shooting from a treestand is causing you to shoot high or maybe your anchoring a little different from a stand. I would say practice more from your lone wolf.

Great video TC, I like how you put all the details together.

As far as the high shots, I guess my only advice would be to try and practice as often as possible from your stand height.
