Pure dedication and determination... I'm in Louisiana, so anytime you mix heat and water, you're constantly on the lookout for cotton mouths and alligators. First thing that came to mind when I was reading the story, was this guy is a beast fighting them suckers off in the dark!

I love that you went in on cyberscout alone, in a swamp, in the dark!
A step above the average guy; a red hot burning step lol.

This is a great question. I never really thought about it. I wish I took more pics of the surrounding terrain. The area is flooded most of the year I think, I am not sure as I haven't ever been to the area before and don't really hunt this region of the state. But from what I have been told it is always wet. I am not sure why vegetation has not taken over that open area. It is surrounded by sloughs which are knee-waist deep water with grass/brush that would be over your head. Then you have some small patches of higher ground which are either pine, oak, or palm heads. It is a pretty crazy looking terrain and looks nothing like I expected from the aerial.

Ho-hum, never hunted there, doesn't look like the aerial, just going to wander in and kill a bow buck day 1 from the ground, no big deal. You're an animal man. Much respect and congrats.

What a story! I will think of your hunt when I'm on the ground in another month during the Wisconsin bow opener.
