Congratulations again to both of you! That will be an awesome lifetime memory that you'll never forget, it just doesn't get any better than that.

Probably the best hunting story I have read. I am not so sure how much "luck" had to do with it. You really seem to put in the work and find those spots. Proof that it does pay off. I would bet that this has already been your best season ever! Congrats to the young lady and you! Better get that one mounted!

  Awesome Neil. Congrats to you and your daughter. I was thinking the same thing, that free mount was hers if she was entered.

Is that your oldest daughter?

Thanks for all the comments, I'll pass them along.

I bet I told her dozens of times on the drag out how lucky she was to have everything fall into place. When you think about it there are dozens of ways to blow a hunt; wind swirls, noisy approach, deer comes in silently and catches you moving, stand creaks, another deer winds you, busted drawing the bow etc...

Having an inexperienced hunter just amplifies how perfect everything has to go. It was a great day, and a quick clean kill. :D

She is #3. 1 and 2 aren't real interested. #4 has a bow and loves to shoot it (just slightly better than a toy bow), but she also hates bugs.  . Kind of a girly girl. She is eight.

Now your gonna have to hear how easy it is and why you go so many deerless days without killing or even seeing a buck.

No kidding

I hunted 8 straight days without having a shot opportunity at a decent buck  Sure is fun trying.

I really enjoyed reading about this hunt and can only imagine the excitement you experienced seeing your little girl put down a good one in the marsh. Congrats to you both!
