My 1st BEAST Style Buck
This is my 1st Buck w a Bow and my 1st Mounter Buck. I got him 1st day out last Saturday and I did it by hunting his bed. I found Dan Infalt last year through a Podcast and have been learning the whole way, it really paid off. 9/19/15 - 49* Low / 70* High He was killed in Climax Springs, MO (Ozarks) it was just bright enough to see green pin, his rack and body. I bumped him 3 weeks ago while scouting and I knew he was bedding in the funnel I killed him in, but I did NOT know exact bedding location. I took a guess based on wind direction and preyed the MOON DAY wasn't too early before first light. The area was hammered w heavy rain the night before and my entry was silent as can be. He came running down the hill behind me and stopped broad side 12 Yards from me. I had major issues w peep site in low light but he was so close I wasn't missing. My 1st shot I hit him directly behind his shoulder and dropped him to the ground, there he stayed until I was able to put a FOR SURE vital shot on him. In the low light and from a tree stand it looked like I hit him in the head! But luckily it all worked out after 20 mins or so. I will have him scored and mounted for sure. We drove a total of 6 Hours and hunted for maybe 45 mins. According to trail cam pics, there is a bigger one, but I am done buck hunting till Nov Rifle portion so I have to pin point Mac Daddy in the mean time. Thanks for the congrats and replies
