30 minutes in I had to defend myself at 4 steps on the ground no blind. More pics n story later. Had to get "hands on" to get the tag on him. This pic he thinks he's hidden... Had to go spider monkey.

Re: recurve reap... check
Wasnt going to hunt till Saturday but landowners called this morning saying a bird was keeping them awake with gobbling. So I dropped the boy off at preschool and headed to the farm. I had 90 minutes before i needed to pick him up so put on my camo and grabbed the reaping recurve. Walked into a known strut location and sumply tucked up against a briar bush and yelped occasionally. After 30 minutes I srood up to get blood into my legs and saw a red head turn the corner. I yelped and hunkered down and hid behind the fan. The bird took a good look and charged from 150 yards wanting the intruder out of his zone. I puckered up and braced myself for a potential raping. .. At 10 yards he went from half strut to full strut and started a sidle step towards me. At 4 yards I drew and shot in one quick motion. I hit him back but the arrow angled forward hard. I figured guts. He ran off with his head down and his fan fully out but it was shaking really bad as he went over the hill. I gave him 25 minutes and looked not finding anything but a drop tine shed. I backed out to get the boy and cane back a couple hours later when the Landowners cos watch the boy for me. A short walk later I found him right where I expected in a big thick area tucked under the log. He was alive so I was to close for missiles so I switched it to guns (you love a good TopGun reference and you know it). A very helter skelter game of tag ensured which ended with him getting a boot stomping. Came back to the van to find my boy had found a nice 5 point shed on his own. Little turd.

Still alive, preparing for a game of tag
You're it.
Spurs, not from San Antonio
Hero 1
Hero 2, yes that's my camo
Boy and his shed
Shot angle, see spot where the head poked thru under the actual head
