Missouri rifle season 8 point with a kicker
So I started out this rifle season hunting some public land about 2 hours from where i live. Didn't have much of a chance to scout it out this year but it has always been good in the past. I got in where the does bed up and set up where the bucks like to cruise by and check things out. Had good action Saturday but a lot of smaller bucks. Sunday I saw 2 pretty decent deer and got to watch a good buck fight but still they weren't what I was looking for. Most of the action seemed to be the mid morning hours and right before dark. So monday morning I got up and was getting ready to head out and I decided that I was going to a different property that I have hunted in the past and knew pretty good. Made the 2 plus hour drive and went in to where I know the bucks like to bed at come the rut. Each year on this property you can go in and hang cameras early season and never get a picture of a buck. There are several groups of does though and around the last week of October these bucks move in and bed in this same area which is only 200 yards from the doe bedding. Have watched bucks in the past come out of this bedding area in the morning cruise through the doe beds then do it again midday and again that evening. Seen it several times so it's a fun property to hunt come the rut. Action was real slow until 3:30 when this guy came out of the bedding area and was doing what I've watched so many in the past do, cruising to check out the does.

Awesome! I really respect the heck out of the guys on here that have many properties figured out to the level you talk about. Really cool.

Sweettacular!
I hunted NE MO back in 2012.(I got it past the wife by doing a combo - visited my sister @ the same time...)
If you don't mind me asking - what region was this buck from?

Uber nice buck. Congrats to you.
You can fool some of the bucks, all of the time, and fool all of the bucks, some of the time, however you certainly can't fool all of the bucks, all of the time.

This buck was killed in the south eastern part of the state. Not really an area know for big racks but they are around here for sure. If you ever slip into MO again and make it this far down let me know, would be happy to help you out and shown ya around. Some good public land in the surrounding area.
