Marshalls Hill Country Buck

Unread postby ttsbuck » Sat Nov 08, 2014 1:02 pm

My son Marshall and I had a western Wis. hunt planned for this past week starting sunday for him and monday for me. Its a piece land with good bucks but very high pressure. Marsh went out sunday afternoon and met a couple other hunters at the parking area, he let the others choose the area they wanted and Marsh then headed to a different spot on the property. That night he saw a spiker. Upon arrival at the parking area monday am there were a few trucks there already. Not knowing where the others were Marsh headed for the same area he hunted the night before. It was daylight by the time he got set up in his tree. He wasn't in his tree for 5 minutes when he heard footsteps in the leaves. He looked up and sees a buck coming his way, he then realized the buck was going to cross his boot tracks and figured he would be gone in a moment. The buck hits his scent trail and freezes for a moment, then turns and comes right at him. He stops at about 30 yards and Marsh looses an arrow. He says he thought the shot was back a bit so he figures he wiil wait a few hours before looking. So two hours later he calls me and says he has been looking at a white spot on the ground about 60 yards from his stand. He gets down and walks over and yes there lays his buck the shot was perfect. Great job!

Nice buck for sure.
You can fool some of the bucks, all of the time, and fool all of the bucks, some of the time, however you certainly can't fool all of the bucks, all of the time.
