It actualy wasn't too bad, I don't usually gut moose or elk, just peel the quarters and meat off much like filleting a very large fish. Despite the popular belief that you need a saw to do this, if you know where the joints are you can quarter a moose with just a hunting knife. I typicaly only use a saw or axe to get the ribs and antlers off. In this case I took one hind quarter and we were able to drag the carcass a little bit closer to shore, then the front and drag it a little closer, then flip it and do the same on the other side. At the end we had it up on the shore to get the antlers and other assorted cuts off. It was close but we didn't actually get our feet wet on this occasion.
They say millwrights can fix anything except a broken heart, but I've even got a tool that can do that!

Very cool.
