Great job adapting to what many would have considered a messed up hunt and making the best of what you had.

The crafty fox strikes again...
That was an excellent adaptation to the circumstances you were confronted with-
well done.

I'm glad to see you had the attitude to adapt and conquer. See what good karma gets you? A nice hunt with friends topped with a nice buck.
That's really to bad Spy, really looked forward to hearing about some of your hunts. Would really like see you post more about them, many lessoned to be shared with your travels. Never figured that losing a hunting spot was a negative, usually if we have success in a certain location for a few years, it's time to move on anyway, learn some new ground......keeps things from getting stale.

The coolest part of the story was I could tell you didn't seem too concerned that the farm you had been hunting was filled up.
New ground is an adventure, congrats

Great story and congrats on the buck.
You are a better person than me, I would hold a grudge if any of my buddies did that to me!

Heck, I dont even let the other 2 guys on the farm in on exactly what I am doing or how I hunt. Lessons learned from experience that if you shoot a good one thier stands somehow get moved to the area you were hunting the next season, sometimes same season. Mike

Glad to hear about you connecting on the new property. Hope that farmer wasn't too mad! I hunt a guy's property and related that I was holding out for a mature buck I had seen and he went on about how I was killing the genetics....
Anyhow, about your "friend", my brother had something similar, he had a "good" friend he was taking to hunt where he hunts which is one of the best areas in the county. It was difficult to get permission there...my brother took his friend several times, put him in good stands, etc. he told his friend, the only thing I ask is that you don't tell anyone and you don't come up here without me. Guess what, the guy took his brother and sat him in my brother's stand! Needless to say, end of a friendship.
