Mistakes were made.

I made a mistake with this one. I thought it was a doe. But it was a buck with only one side of a deformed antler. Still, it was a great hunt. I killed him fair and square from the ground in this ghillie suit with a 50 pound longbow and a Simmons treeshark broadhead. He went about 70 yards or so. He weighed 198 on the hoof.

You killed him that is a good thing. Congrats on the buck.
You can fool some of the bucks, all of the time, and fool all of the bucks, some of the time, however you certainly can't fool all of the bucks, all of the time.

Thanks guys. I can still buy another Illinois tag and I have an Indiana tag. I hesitated to post this because it is embarrassing to make such a mistake after 20 years of bowhunting. But it happened. He will keep us fed though.

Shoot man, nothing to be embarrassed by. Mistakes happen. Heck poking him using the methods you did that was a still a successful hunt.

I have been hunting this season in a ghillie as well. I love ground hunting!

I would be proud of that hunt. I understand why you wish u didn't kill him but it will make a good story at least!

This is one of the funniest pictures I have ever seen. To the OP great job, in would be sick if it is a single tag state like PA but still dang proud with all things considered
