Re: Cousin shot a big 10 pointer!
Could one of the Mods move this to the kill zone please?
I will explain the hunt and history the best I can.
I first saw this buck in July running with 3 other bucks almost every night. They hitting beans hard across the road from my uncles but seemed to bed behind my uncle's house in the marsh. I actually knew where the beds were in the spring while scouting. Id agreed with my uncle that behind his house is for him and my cousin to hunt only.
My cousin called from Michigan UP and asked how everything was looking. I told about the bucks I've been seeing bedding behind their house and told him as soon as you get home hunt it on south wind. He put trail cams down there and got a 140 to 150 ten point, a 130s 10 point and this guy. I had also seen a Dandy 8 down there that must be close to breaking 140. Slob 8 point.
He got in really good for entry so he wouldn't disturb the beds. He placed his stand right on a crick crossing. At last light this buck skirted the crick edge and drilled him at 10 yards. When he shot him he said the buck pile drives his head into the crick bed and broke the arrow. We found half of his arrow in the crick. He sliced the wind pipe and hit lungs. Very happy for him. This is his biggest buck ever.

Great story. Hunts that you share like that feel more rewarding than your personal accomplishments.

I love helping out others kill their target animal whether it's Turkey or bucks. I realize it's a memory they will have forever and am very glad to be a part o f it. It just means a lot to me. Not just the kill but the memory and the experience itself.
