1st bird in 12 or 13 years
Between not being a WI resident and being totally obsessed with making my land the best deer habitat in the world, I have only hunted 2 times in the last 12 or 13 years...but was able to pull it off finally. Felt good, I'm trying to stay a little more well rounded these days I guess. Still got a lot of habitat work done which was nice, even trimmed out my gun stand!
Went from cold crunchy snow to snow and warmer to hot by the time I got back to the house! Snow is almost gone in the background.

Congrats on the bird.
You can fool some of the bucks, all of the time, and fool all of the bucks, some of the time, however you certainly can't fool all of the bucks, all of the time.

congrats Mike. Way to spend some non deer management time. Since you don't shoot that many, how do you plan to cook it?

I hope to smoke it, we just got a smoker so that's a little experimental but I love smoked turkey. Otherwise I will ask my brother for one of his crock pot recipes, he's tried a lot of recipes and has some good ones.
