Michigan Turkey down
I went out Monday with a good friend and set up in an area he's been seeing several birds strutting. Long story short we weren't quite in the right spot and the several toms we did see were with hens and not interested in our decoy set up. Two jakes came in and put a beating on the DSD but no mature birds.
The next few days were rain, snow, and more rain....Fast forward to Friday morning. We set up in the same field but more in the stutting zone. Before light we had toms gobbling all around us and thought it was a done deal only to watch several toms strutting about 100 yards away followed by the hens leading them away from us. We watched as the flock reached over a quarter mile away and had all but given up. As a last resort my buddy let out a cutting sequence and I followed it up with a mouth "gobble" call. Slowly but surely they toms started back our way. Over the next 40 minutes we watched as they inched closer and closer. Finally a big mature tom entered our field and B lined it to our set up. He came in and offered a good shot. At the recovery I was excited to find out he had 3 beards..a 10", 10", and a 4.5" and weighed in at 23.5lbs. He's my best bird to date. I was excited to say the least.
This was my first trial at filming but think it turned out ok. Hope you enjoy.

You cannot invade mainland America. There would be a rifle behind every blade of grass.
