Re: My seasons in photos
Thanks guys! I never go bow hunting without a camera anymore...its almost as important to me (ALMOST) as remembering the bow. I love taking pictures of things because god knows memories only fade with time. I won't have another year like last year, ever, I don't think I am a good enough person. Here are a few more pics from the fall per request.
More scenery from elk hunting:
This was taken on one of those perfect days in the mountains, 65 degrees at noon and I can still smell the aspen in the sun with the only man made sound the jets overhead.
A 5x6 bull that died the year before from who knows what.
Then a few more from bow season. These two guys licked each other and sparred and then licked each other some more for 20 minutes in front of me...not sure what was going on there. Haha I dubbed them the "Fairy Bucks"
I had a hot doe come by me in late October with a swarm of bucks behind her. The last one was the biggest, a heavy and super wide 9 pointer that is relatively young that I discovered this year in a new spot. I got this picture after he moved past. The pic doesn't do him justice, he is high on the list next year.
Some rut action. This year was a great rut locally...after two years of very poor ones action wise.
Walking out one night, this goofball was so stupid with the rut he let me walk to within 40'...he is probably dead now.
Moon.
This was in the late season, it was a surreal hunt because the fog ceiling was 20' overhead down where I was. It felt a little claustrophobic actually!
I bumped a group of does...which bumped this buck, late season. By-by.
Squirrel more concerned with the cold than me. It was around 0 at the time.
This group of deer was digging for acorns. Late season food sources were hard to find this year. In the right center of the photo is the buck I call the Freak - one side is just a mass of points. Next year he and I are going to get to know each other much better, lord willing

DUDE! Awesome pictures and what a great year. I'm the same way with a video camera as you are with a camera...I'm not going hunting without it!
Very cool pictures...they're so good its almost better than video tapes!
I like the little buck in the field staring at your, the eagle, and the 3yr old 10pter the best. Cool.
Congrats on your season!

Great pics and season! Love the ten pointer in the scrape with the leaves on the ground.
You must have a full freezer! That is a lot of meat.
