Got one today
So here is the story.
This rut has been throwing me for a loop so I decided with the warm weather today I would go back to bed hunting. I picked up a hand climber the other day to use when I can instead of the sticks and alpha when possible so I hunted out of it yesterday afternoon to get used to it and decide if it's something I can use. I set up down wind of a doe bedding area that was hold does "I could see them from my stand ". I didn't get any action there but I did spot a good buck getting out of his bed about 150 yards or so away, He strolled of in a different direction but I could see a great tree to set up near his bed with my new hand climber.
So I set out to sit this bucks bed a bit later that I would have liked but I had some other stuff to do. I got out there about 1:30 after about a 30-45 minute sneak and the tree I spoted was good but there was a better one I picked out because I could cover more area and it had a big gnarly blow down in front of it so I got up just high enough to shoot over the blowdowns maybe 8 feet or so. I got to the desired height and sat down. as soon as I sat down I seen the buck moving though thick brush about 30 yards away heading my way! I didn't have my bow pulled up and didn't have my release on. I somehow managed to get the bow up after it hung up in the brush with out notice so I strapped on my release slid a arrow out of the quiver and nocked it, I look up and buck is 15 yards looking the other way, wind was perfect and I had great cover. I get my bow up and the buck looks my direction so I had to hold it there for what seemed like a hour but was probably 15-20 seconds until he looked away and I got to full draw. he started to walk away angling away from me but as soon as he got where I had a clear shot I mouth bleated he stopped and got drilled at about 15 yards. I though I hit a little far back but with the angle it drilled the heart and buried in shoulder on the other side. The blood trail was awesome and he made it about 30 yards "slick trick magnum 125". broke my arrow but this was the second deer that arrow/broadhead killed a deer ...9 points

Re: Got one today
You did good.
You can fool some of the bucks, all of the time, and fool all of the bucks, some of the time, however you certainly can't fool all of the bucks, all of the time.
