Got One in NC!
Tagged one yesterday morning at 9am from a place I scouted 2 years ago and had a close encounter last year. More details to come.

Re: Got One in NC!
Good job on the nice buck.
You can fool some of the bucks, all of the time, and fool all of the bucks, some of the time, however you certainly can't fool all of the bucks, all of the time.

Re: Got One in NC!
The History.
The story of this kill began like most beast stories do, before this season and after a little bit heart break. About two years ago after watching Dans marsh bucks dvd, I decided to walk a small marsh behind my grandfathers house. I followed a deer trail back to a very small ridge and when I did I was amazed to find a large tree that had been rubbed hard. It was and still is the biggest rub Ive ever seen in person. As I walked closer to the marsh I found more leading into a bed. It was my first post season find. I remember sitting in that bed for a long time and asking God to give me a crack at this buck. My step father showed pics of the rubs to a guy he works with and the guy said that a buck had not made those rubs but that a bob cat had stratched those trees. So I came up with name Prospect Bob.
The next season I hunted him best I knew how 5 times total all season. Now I do not use trail cameras so I wasnt sure what he looked like but only had old school proof that a mature buck was using the area. Some of you may remember my close but no cigar hunt last year when I got busted drawing back a buck harassing does on oct 27th. I learned alot from that hunt and swore that I would make slight adjustments the following year to kill.
This season I would take my two little girls with me to glass deer. Of course we just sat in the truck and sightings of mature deer were almost none exsistant except for one buck. A tall but slender rack 8 pt that we seen in a bean field right off the marsh. The problem was he was on the wrong side of the marsh and I couldnt hunt the feild. But acorns were soon to be falling and two days before the opener I seen the were falling on my side of the marsh. I hunted him the first Sunday of the season between his bed and the oaks. To my surprise he passed by 60yds away heading to a sweet potato feild. I shined the feild that night when I got back to my truck and there he was. I hunted that bed one more time the following week with no trace of Bob.
