Good stuff cuz, great summary of the story I got last night on the phone. That story of the air balloon coming in a few weeks back and spooking a buck was good too. Think it was him?
What about age, you or James have a guess? Heck while were at it, weight?

Re: Double Play (tine fest in SW WI )
They were both oddly light bucks. We weighed both together on the same scale (separately) The slob came in at 169 lbs and mine only a shade lighter at about 165 lbs.
We're sending the teeth for aging but based on what we saw with the teeth and assumed history with both bucks we're putting Mikes at 4 year old and mine 3 year old.

Re: Double Play (tine fest in SW WI )
Lou,
I do think it's the same buck that the balloon spooked. His rack looked the same when I first spotted him on the morning of the kill as it did when I saw him prior to the balloon. His head was down both times and you can't really mistake those long sweeping beams. And I was hunting the same bed both sits.
And those weights really surprise me too ! We have killed some nice sized deer in that valley and they all weighed more than these two pigeon chested girly bucks. Haha
Probably to my advantage that mine was so light. Kept him from fighting and busting up that gorgeous rack

Re: Double Play (tine fest in SW WI )
It just dawned on me while replying to Lou that I titled this "Post Double play & Tine fest" and didn't post the original photo that I had planned to that would have been a little more fitting and self explanatory.
I plead adrenaline hangover.
Anyway I think this is what I had in mind.

yeh, that is a better pic for your title. And on the weight, 165 and 169 dressed, really aint that girly. They are both well over 200 on the hoof live weight.

Lou, Mikes buck off this property last year was likely in the 180's dressed and the last one I took there was 204 dressed. So it just seemed odd that they were a lot lighter this year. Also neither buck had much of a neck considering the date.

Great story and two great bucks.
You can fool some of the bucks, all of the time, and fool all of the bucks, some of the time, however you certainly can't fool all of the bucks, all of the time.
