I recently saw my taxidermist had posted on social media looking for help finding or contacting a customer who's buck shoulder mount was completed and waiting to be paid for and picked up. The customers phone had been disconnected since he filled out his paperwork with the taxi and the address listed had also been changed.
I have been chasing down landowner contact info regularly now for some 8 or 9 years seeking access to various pieces. Sometimes you have to get more creative than whitepages.com or social media to find someone. Well, between myself and a friend of mine, we were able to help track him down so he could pick up his buck before the taxi put it up for sale to get some return on his personal investment - the customer had not initially left money down.
The taxi was gracious for the help my buddy and I put forth and bumped both of our bucks he has up on his work list to return the favor. Pretty cool!
So the taxi got paid, the customer got his mount, and my buddy and I are getting our November kills back in about a month, maybe two!
Happy on all ends. Sometimes unexpected favors are gratefully returned by more unexpected favors. In this case, neither my pal or I were looking for anything in return, just lending a hand by putting forth some effort in something we know how to do well. Just a cool dea all around.
