Question on teeth

Could anyone offer some insight to this pic of the teeth? I'm no expert, have only done a handful of euros and havnt seen this. Buck was shot in December, I have an idea of what's going on here but would like to hear from people who have seen this and know more thank I do, thanks guys.Image

I believe that is the permanent teeth coming in. Easier to tell on the bottom jaw. My guess is that deer is in the 1.5 year class.

I've never seen this before.

There has been documented cases of deer growing canine type teeth. Maybe this is one of those abnormalities?

from what I understand the teeth that fall out have 3 cusps and the adult teeth that replace have 2 cusps..the premolars in the pic that appear to be being pushed out by adult teeth have 2 cusps...thoughts on that?

Not sure if top/bottom have same # of cusps but normally all the info you get on age/teeth is speaking of bottoms.

If the 3rd tooth from the front on the bottom jaw has 3 cusps, it is a 1.5 yr old class. That tooth is replaced with a 2 cusp adult tooth. I do not think top and bottom teeth can be compared when talking cusps.
