How to care for velvet?

Unread postby Wlog » Mon Sep 01, 2014 2:06 pm

I'm just wondering if there is anything specific that needs to be done to preserve velvet antlers? I've never shot a velvet buck but I want to be prepared if I do. What would I need to do to preserve it until I get it to the taxidermist?

Freeze the head and find a taxidermist that can freeze dri or have the antlers freeze dried
