You cannot invade mainland America. There would be a rifle behind every blade of grass.

Re: 2012 Hoosier Buck
Here is the story I originally posted in the Kill thread for anyone interested:
Finally got to gun hunt a farm that my brothers and dad usually hunt, but dad went elsewhere and one brother had to work so it was just two of us. I typically only hunt this farm once or twice during bow since it's one of two properties they can hunt. I set my lone wolf up last Saturday morning and saw tons of deer and a handful of really nice bucks, including one whopper. I try really hard not to sit stands more than once or twice a year because this property is the thickest around and if you don't bump them out they really flood in there during gun season. I actually missed a PY 10 pointer on tuesday with my bow from this same stand. Saturday morning was my 6th consecutive sit in this stand. Saturday morning at 8:45 I could see the breath of two deer behind me in the neighboring woods so I get up and get ready. There was a guy to my south about 150 yds and he's rattling and snort wheezing and all types of racket and the deer are just standing there like "come on really". 9:00 a see a real nice buck stand up and as soon as he does the doe bolts my way. They jumped the property fence and I'm in the stand trying to mouth grunt to stop them and finally I just started yelling "hey, hey, hey". The big doe was absolutely locked on me and the bigger buck chased a spike off and then directed his attention to me. Luckily the cross hairs were already on him and he took his last two steps around a pine tree and dropped like a sack of taters. It all happened so quick I didn't know what exactly he had for head gear, I'm thinking probably mid 120's(doesn't matter I'm more than pleased). The spot I was in is an extra thick spot in a CRP field planted with pines and oaks that I've seen mature deer in the past lockdown with does in. I originally hung my stand with the intent of using it at an observation stand (for bowhunting), because it's about 100 yds from this really thick spot. I was able to get the shot off about 10 yards from his little love hide out.
