Re: 2012 Mount is HOME !
Thanks all!
As much as I love to show that guy off, I am humbled by how cool HE is. (BIG?)
I only killed him. He had to grow it.
I had it officially scored and entered into P&Y.
Net 141 7/8.
Gross 156 and change.
Add in the 8+" of non- typical points and the un-official gross score is 165 7/8".

I wish you would of put it up in the deer forum. I was gonna call you out and ask if you were sand bagging us in the deer forum, then I came over hear to see if it was here first.
Very nice, heck of a deer. Wow - gross 165 and change and end up with 141 and change for the book

I hate "net" totally creates a false sense of how great your buck was. A guy might hear 140in and shrug his shoulders, then see a pic of your buck snd see how great it is. Congrats, he is a slob.
How wide was he?

Re: 2012 Mount is HOME !
Thanks JM. He is 20 1/4" inches wide.
A very depressing side note. My new mount is going back to the taxi.
When I hung it, it just didn't seem engaged on the hook properly so I jacked it around a bit and found it sturdy.
A few days later while admiring it some more I thought I'd check it for sturdiness again and jacked it around some more and heard metal to metal engagement and left it alone.
Well. You guesed it. The next night when I got home from work it was laying on the floor in a pile glass. There was enough hair on the floor to make it look like a coyote attack.
Apparently I was engaged on one of the staples in the hide into the plywood instead of the hanger. All my jacking around must have loosened it enough to pop out. When it fell it landed on a glass vase and several of the shards drove clear through the hide and into the form.
Hopefully it is repairable. Luckily the ears, antlers and mouth were unscathed.
Oh well!
Live and learn.

I agree with NET......It takes away from the buck IMO. Deer are not made to have a perfect frame, humans put that standard on the bucks.
As my friend always says..."Net is for a fish"
