I'm getting a semi-sneak turned to the left because that's what he did the first time he was directly under my tree

I'm getting my shotgun buck mounted with a Semi-Sneak facing to the right a bit. Chose it because my taxidermist had a bunch on the wall and really liked how he did it. Plus, I saw a bunch done by the same guy in a buddies basement and really liked that particular pose. My 8 point that I got with bow I am getting Euro mount done. Hopefully the Euro Mount will be done in the next couple months but I know the other one won't be done until late summer/early fall. The wait is tough!
Here is the before pic, cant wait to see the after!

Re: Who is getting their 2012 buck(s) mounted?
I've always wanted to get a buck mounted doing a lip-curl, but I didn't want to just have it done that way, I wanted it to have happened during the hunt. Well, my PA buck lip-curled right in front of me while he was trailing a doe and so I'm going to get him in that pose. I am looking for a pose where his head/neck is stretched out towards the floor with his head tipped back. Haven't had any luck finding one that I like, most of the lip-curl mounts I've seen are in sneak.
I'm also getting my Ohio buck mounted in semi-sneak with ears forward, just like he was when I shot him.

Did you mean semi-sneak instead of sneak in your last sentence - since it seems to me that most lip curl or Flehmen deer are mounted as semi-sneaks?
For a buck trailing a doe with his neck stretched out and his head up just a little you could go with a Ben Mears sneak (http://www.mckenziesp.com/FS-71-P3005.aspx) or a Matt Thompson extreme sneak (http://www.mckenziesp.com/95-1970R-P3273.aspx). The fighting buck (form C200B) from Joe Coombs Classics could easily be turned into what you want (http://www.joecoombs.com/index.php?main_page=product_info&cPath=24_70_85&products_id=307). I don't think you will find the exact pose you want in a catalog. Your taxidermist would most likely have to get a manikin close to what you want and make a few alterations in the neck and maybe (depending on the manikin chosen) tilting the head up just a little.

Great info Mountain Man! I'm going to take all of those suggestions to my taxidermist. I'm sure he will be able to get exactly what I want with one of those forms. Thanks!

Here's my 2012 mount. The rack is 139" ... I knew he wasn't going to break any records :) but he was a stud big woods buck and I wanted him on the wall. The taxidermist did such a fantastic job. The picture might not show it ... but the buck looks alive...

Re: Who is getting their 2012 buck(s) mounted?
I am getting my shotgun buck(the one in my avatar) mounted. I don't know the mold number or anything but its a semi aggressive stance with the head cocked to the right. I have another mount of a bow buck that is smaller so I wanted it to look like my new buck is being aggressive to him. I was also very impressed with the fur cap on my 2012 buck so I wanted a mount that showed that off a little.

I am getting a full sneak of my buck with ears back. He was a tall rack and not wide so I figured that would look good. When I shot him he was at a full sneak chasing a hot doe.

Re: Who is getting their 2012 buck(s) mounted?
I am getting my bow buck mounted, left turn. I want to expose the unique left brow tine he has. I built my own version of a pedestal with a barn board base and an old fence post and was going to give it to my son for a euro mount of his. But it turned out so well I may put my shoulder mount on it.

MountainMan, my taxidermist was able to custom tilt the head on my Flehmen mount and squint the eyes just the way I wanted it. You can check it out here: http://www.thehuntingbeast.com/viewtopic.php?f=26&t=18497&p=229205#p229205. Thanks for the help!
