Be sure and check Ameristep's website. A batch of these have been recalled. All of the ones I have are in that batch so I'll probably send them back unless they totally stopped making them.

Re: Want to buy Ameristep Strap On Tree steps
Thanks
They have quit making these and you cant find them anymore. I believe the strap they were using was breaking but I'm cutting the straps off placing six steps on a single ratchet strap for a base on my tree saddle. Heres a video of what it is.

Have you ever considered Climb Paws? I ordered some Top Paws last year for my treesaddle and they work great. Just wondering if you ever seen these.

I did the same thing when I had the saddle. It wasnt ideal, but worked ok. For climbing tree's, these steps are horrible in my opinion. I bought the cranford rope on steps and they are much more stable, but do take a bit of effort to use. I keep them around, but rarely use them now that I have 4 LW sticks.
I have 4 treadcovers I bought to use up top, then misplaced them for 2 seasons. I sold the saddle, never did get to use them. Ill have to take a pic and post them in the classifieds.

FYI, All the steps with a 2008 date stamp are under a voluntary recall, the recall indicates the plastic step was breaking not the strap so if you have any with the 2008 datestamp my advice would be to send them back for a refund, continuing to use them could be hazardous to your health
