Cheapest way to ship a treestand

Unread postby Voz » Fri Sep 26, 2014 3:12 am

Hey guys,

I have a Summit Viper SD for sale that I've used only 3 times. I have a potential buyer but was curious if you guys have any suggestions on the cheapest way to ship it. I've checked with UPS etc.. and shipping is brutal.

Any thoughts/suggestions?

Thanks

Curious as well, have a 5lb loggy i was thinking about trading for some camo but wondered about whether it would be worth it. I'll check Fedex.

Voz, looks like 20lb. Viper thru Fedex would be around 18 dollars under 1000miles (ground).

By far the cheapest I have found is speedy but they are very limited in coverage and the odds of you being in the area and the recipient are slim, but its worth checking. I shipped one to Minnesota from wi and it was like 11 bucks for next day delivery.

Speedy is the cheapest, but limited to parts of the Midwest

If you buy your postage on line, USPS you can save a few bucks. I sent a 10.5lb package to Louisiana a couple weeks ago, saved almost $13.00 buying on line.
You can fool some of the bucks, all of the time, and fool all of the bucks, some of the time, however you certainly can't fool all of the bucks, all of the time.

I struggled trying to find a cheap option when I sold my stand and sticks. Best I could do was ship both for about $45 thru USPS.

Thanks for all the replies. I am out of Chicago and need to ship to North Carolina. I don't think the weight is an issue but more so the dimensions of the box or stand.

Where did you guys come across a box big enough to fit the stand? I can't even find that lol.

Thanks guys!

for the odd shape and sizes of climbers, it'll be a chunk out of your pocket. They calculate distance with lbs and size. One option is speedy of course... and grey hound. I've shipped big stuff like car body kits to trannys. Easy and definitely cheaper. They would just have to pick up the item at a grey hound station. Just another option for you.

Too bad you don't have the original box for your Summit. They are shaped like a triangle and much more compact compared to a square box.
