CRAZY NUTS! Not a chance you'd catch me doing that i enjoy life too much. It would take me at least a case and a half to shake the jitters after an experience like that!.

This is the way I released a dog in the past.Take a 4' x 8' sheet of plywood cut a notch in the 8' side at the bottom in the middle.Drive right up the the animal with your truck leave door open.Walk towards the animal put the notch over the leg with the trap on your side.Open the trap jump in the truck job done.

I used a sheet of plywood to release unwanted animals too... Never thought of the notch though.

That's pretty crazy. I know people that have released numerous wolves from traps and the wolves almost always cower down. They say you almost don't even need a catch pole when they do that. They could probably just walk up and step on the trap to release them most times. Not this one though. I wonder how long he was in the trap?

I like your idea. I used to just throw a blanket over them. After a while I realised they really aren't as mean as I thought. I have taken dogs out by just sitting down with them for a few minutes and talking to them then easing up and stepping the trap open. I had one german shepard that was very aggressive. In short time I walked up and let him out. No blanket or anything. He then wanted to follow me home! I had to chase him away. I don't think I'd try that with a wolf though. I'm crazy but not that crazy.

That is why I park the truck close with the door open they will jump in your truck because you are there buddy for letting them go.

That was pretty cool. I like the idea of the plywood but I think if I were going to use a catch stick it would have to be longer than 4'!!!

plywood with a noch works great. I used that to release a badger from a dirthole set. It sure enough didn't run away either, It wanted to kill me and roll in my gut pile.

Cool video.... but this computer im using dont have sound. I kinda felt sorry for the wolf. Looks like he could have yanked his leg out of its socket. Id rather see the wolf get darted with drugs then released.

Too bad he didn't have a tag, a 30-06 would have evened the odds a lot.
