I was looking for some advice on using a dead cow for bait and snaring what I believe to be coyote entrance and exit routes to a field. The good thing is the field is covered with fence so I could trap near the fences. However, ive heard yotes slow down prior to getting to a fence crossing and wont go through the snare as they mistake it for part of the fence. Should i back it away from the fence a bit?
Also, if i snare one will it keep the rest away?
Any thoughts or advice would be great. Any thoughts on using the cow?
I tried to PM ub1243 but not sure it worked.
Thanks for the help!

Re: Snaring over bait
Lots of yotes are snared going through fences. The cow will be good bait. If it was me, I'd put the cow out and wait till they start coming in regular so you can see their trails. Keep the snares back a pretty good distance from the cow so they don't associate the snares with the cow, this should keep them coming in even after some get caught. I'm not an expert on snaring or coyotes, but hopefully this will help.
