Trapping coyotes
Been thinking of starting trapping coyotes in my area. What traps would you guys recommend?

Re: Trapping coyotes
You Would want at least a size 1 3/4 trap. I like the MB 550's made by Minnesota Trapline Products. They're a good heavy trap, ready to go right out of the box, but very expensive. Or, you could go with a size 3 Duke trap. It's a bigger(better) size and about half the price. Not built nearly as good and probably won't last as long, but they do the job.
There are 2 ways to look at it. Some guys say they can set twice as many Dukes for the same money. I don't have much time to check traps, so I don't need dozens and dozens of traps. I'd rather have top of the line traps.
Hope this helps.

Re: Trapping coyotes
first thing you have to check is the state your trapping in has a jaw spread limit. some states require offset jaws. a number 2 or 3 is the preferred coyote trap.
