So I am planning on shed hunting state ground but the place is huge and I am unfamiliar with it, also there is no corn fields or any ag fields on the state ground just fields that boarder the state ground. I do know there is a lot of creeks that flow through there so I was wandering if it would be worth it to follow the cricks looking for sheds
so I don't get lost or do you guys think it would be pointless and a waste of time?

I would start by looking at places you know that bucks cross. Sometimes just the impact of them jumping acoss will jar them loose. If there are any fences that border the fields from the property your walking check along that too.

Walk the south facing slopes or any thick cover. If the deer are wintering there you might have luck.

I've never been able to find any on the public I hunt. Mice/yotes/squirrels get them quick.

I'm not sure where you're at but if you get a good amount of snow, blocks of conifer trees seem to be decent as well.
