Haus' 2015 Shed Thread
It's finally here! It will be hard for my wife, shed dog, and I to top the 56 sheds we found last year, but we can hope.
Our shed dog, Dee Dee, put us on the board this morning with the first shed of the year! A lot of bucks are still holding, but we are hoping we can add to the count this weekend.

How many solos did Dee Dee have last year? Good lookn dog!

Very cool.
You can fool some of the bucks, all of the time, and fool all of the bucks, some of the time, however you certainly can't fool all of the bucks, all of the time.

She found several singles and a matched set on her own. A lot of the easy ones we spotted first from a distance and we let her pick them up on her own.

Too bad your dog is a female Haus; I'm looking for a fox red male to breed my dog to, especially one that finds antlers!

I sometimes regret getting her spayed without even considering it. She is actually from Waterdog Specialties in Waukesha, which maybe some of the SE Wisconsin guys are familiar with. She is AWESOME!

Water dog specialties (the kennedys) are practically in my backyard. I'm about a 1/4 mile up the road. I know a few guys who've gotten their dogs there. They have a good reputation around here

These are the sheds that keep me up at night. His name is Checkpoint Charlie. My wife drew back on him twice in the last two years, but could never get a clear shot. If we find these sheds, I will probably be more excited than killing him. During muzzleloader season I didn't want to see him, because I didn't want to have to choose whether to shoot, or let him go. We have so much history with him that I couldn't imagine having a year without the chance to chase him. Fortunately, he made it through the gun seasons and I never had to make the decision. Checkpoint, you son of a buck!

Seeing all these posts on here about shed hunting dogs are making me want one that much more. Maybe one day...

We've walked 20+ miles already, and this is all I have to show for it. A lot of bucks are still holding and there is a foot of snow in the timber. I guess I'll have to be patient. This was the first time I ever went shedless in January.

More than I've found. Jumped a buck the other day still holding and believe most still are here

Re: Haus' 2015 Shed Thread
My wife and I pulled in by some landowners today to visit. As we were driving down the road I spotted a small shed on one of the terraces. We pulled over to let the dog out, and right when I put it in park, my wife noticed another bigger shed. The big shed belongs to a buck named Scott. We matched him up last year, and he is a beautiful 6x6.
