Found a 150 inch set

Unread postby BigHills BuckHunter » Mon Mar 12, 2012 1:02 pm

My dad and I looked hard for antlers today. I met him at the farm and he was going to go home. He had found a really nice 4 point antler he was happy with. I went out to look through some marsh and I got a call. It was my dad, he said he was driving on the road and he thought he just found the other side to the big one I found 3 weeks ago. I couldnt believe it. He came back from where he found it and showed it to me and sure enough it was a set match. About a quarter mile apart I would guess. He said he was driving slow and looked into the corn field and 10 feet off the road it was laying in the corn. Needless to say we had a good laugh about how he found it. And yes it was found on our property so he didnt need to ask for permission. It looks like its been there a while so just imagine all the cars that drove by that antler in the past 3 weeks 10 feet off the road.

The big 4 point he found I found the same side last year.

Awesome! Been looking hard out the truck window myself, but I never found one that way... Hope you kill that beast this fall. 8-)

Thanks Dan. This buck is very smart and hard to kill. He likes to bed on the neighbors during the season then after dark walks onto our land. Although in the summer he bedded in ours. Saw him twice while scouting. No trail cam pics. Now he is wintering in ours. Im afraid the only chance I will have at him is during the rut when he travels more or during the gun season if he gets kicked up.

Very cool. I have found 2 drops driving down the road.
You can fool some of the bucks, all of the time, and fool all of the bucks, some of the time, however you certainly can't fool all of the bucks, all of the time.

Great find! You've got to love finding road sheds.
