Fish Phone by Vexilar

Unread postby Swampthing » Sat Dec 28, 2013 8:01 am

Our Aqua Vu was stolen last year so we have been shopping around for a new one. My girlfriend said we should buy a Fish Phone and I didn't want any part of it. The unit is just the camera and modem and you use your own phone as a monitor. But I had to apologize to her after we bought it. It really is awesome. No more fighting or standing in line to view the monitor like in the past. We both have smart phones and also a tablet and they can all become monitors with this unit. You just go to the app store and download the Fish Phone app, then click the icon and in seconds it's done. You can even take still shots or videos from the viewing screen. We tried it out last weekend at the ice house and invited some friends along. They also had smart phones so all 4 of us were viewing the underwater cam at the same time from 4 different devices.

Seems like another great use for a tablet (bigger screen too). Mount it on the wall of the fish trap. :D

Our tablet is just as big as the screen you would get with a normal monitor / viewer and it's a Samsung Galaxy so it's real nice.
