Petenwell

Unread postby BGHUNTER » Mon Mar 11, 2013 1:24 pm

Went to Petenwell on Saturday. Went off Petenwell County Park to get on the south side of the heave by Longview. Did ok in the morning, lots of lookers. Sleeted some then dry for awhile then rain in the afternoon. Ended up with 15, 9 whitebass and 6 crappie. Red buckshot with red spikes worked. Also caught a couple deadsticking a rosey red at 15 feet. Afternoon they wanted a green forage jigging spoon.

Friends cooked up some brats for dinner before the rain hit us.

My friends always say stay away from the heaves yet here we are fishing 20 yards away from one.

The heaves on that lake are monsters, WE were fishing when they did some dam work and you could feel the ice move. The fishing was great un till that happened. we went from 5 feet of water to 3 feet and it seemed like just a few minutes. Wish I had more time on the ice this year.
