1st Timer and he's hooked!
Jake met a new friend that moved into the neighborhood @ the end of Sept. and they are happily in the 1st grade together.
His Dad passed away in August so I've been spending time w/ the boys and doing outdoor stuff and also helping the Mom once in a while too...
Coincidently his name is Jacob and the two of them had a blast after school on the ice.
It was slippery so I made them wear there helmets as I don't have time for hospital visit - the fish were bitting...
His 1st time out and Jacob was a natural, he jigged this nice 2 lb. bass...
I had pre-drilled about a dozen holes and jigged for about twenty minutes and had 4-fish on the ice
before leaving to pick the boys up @ the bus stop on the ATV.
This is one I jigged while testing the waters and makin sure it was going to be a good afternoon for the kids
We caught close to twenty fish in less than two hours, Jake's excited for a fish fry!!!
Also invited my older buddy who is an incredible fisherman, he easily catches 2 fish for every one of mine...

Very cool Ed
You can fool some of the bucks, all of the time, and fool all of the bucks, some of the time, however you certainly can't fool all of the bucks, all of the time.

If I had Ed for a neighbor I'd lock my doors and sleep with one eye open.
Good job Ed! way to get the kids involved!

Pickerel
If you look close you'll see a gash just below his dorsal fin.
I hooked him in the back.
Anyone can hook them in the mouth, the mouth is overated!

That's a nice fat pickerel.
You cannot invade mainland America. There would be a rifle behind every blade of grass.

Ed,
What kind of pickerel do you have over there? I'm guessing Chain & maybe Grass Pickerels? I have heard of Redfin Pickerel, but I don't know what part of the country they are in. Do you have them?
