hitting the ice
I did some scouting and found a good bluegill bedding area on heavy pressured public water. I'm going to sneak in close today and set up on the edge of their core area. I altered the exhaust on my auger to mimic the bluegill mating call. I'll entice them with an orange and yellow teardrop jig tipped with waxies. I can smell them frying already!

It kinda sounds like glub glub glub with a faint background noise that sounds like... well I guess the best way to describe it..... a headboard banging the wall.

Re: hitting the ice
How do you tell the male bluegill track from the female blugill track?
Hate to see you waste time tracking the wrong one down.

Don't hurt yourself - hitting the ice at your age could break you brittle bones...

Re: hitting the ice
Only 6 gills today.
I think a pack of water wolves swam thru the bedding area.

The mature males leave a drag mark between their fins.
