2/2/2013,2/3/2013 Ice Fishing

Saturday- Went up to Petenwell fished hard all day. Lots of lookers all morning, got worse all afternoon. Managed 2 crappie to bring home. One baby walleye and 3 sheepshead. Out of 6 or 7 of us high hook was 4 crappie I think.



Sunday- Slept in a bit had breakfast with the family. Headed to a local lake around lunchtime. Fish were on fire. Called my daughter to come meet me out there. Picked her up with wheeler and went back out there fish were still cooperating. Had a fun afternoon and home in time for the game.

The ones at Petenwell were 5 feet up fishing in 21 feet of water.

The second lake in 13 ft of water coming right off the bottom.

Nice catch. We had a group over on Petenwell last Saturday too. Did not do well at all. 5 short walleyes, a crappie and a huge whitebass was all we had to show for our efforts. Buddy managed to get himself a $187 dollar ticket too, because he had too many lines in. Funny story... He came and sat in my shanty for awhile and when he went back to his, a fish had taken his st.croix down the hole! We laughed about that. An hour later he actually hooked the rod and pulled it back up! 19 feet of water. If he would never have hooked that rod he would not have had 2 tip ups out and would have been legal! But he forgot about the tip ups and had 2 lines in his shanty. We are still giving him crap about it.
