I spear a little.
Been passing more than throwing.
Seen a few good ones but no real opportunities yet.
Seem a little more skittish this year so far.

Had some time off between Christmas and New Years to sit in the dark house. I got a few to put in the freezer so I decided to try my hand at iPhone videoing.
[BBvideo 425,350][BBvideo 425,350]http://i292.photobucket.com/albums/mm32/arrowbender/Pikevideo.gif[/BBvideo][/bbvideo]

The fish in the vid is about a 24" pike. My red & white is 12"'s long. I did not throw at him but was tempted to when he moved in on Gil.
I did take a nice 28"er the next day.

When I take fish that size and bigger I like to take at least one of the fillets and throw'em on the Barb'y.
This one turned out exceptional.

Maybe this link will work for the vid

Not quite sure how to post the vid direct. Maybe a moderator can insert it in the OP.

Nice fish arrowbender. I'm going out again tommorow, can't wait. Last week I had a potential state record largemouth come through my hole. He would easily go 9#. We are hoping to catch him on a jig and a waxworm.

Is this technique for pike or sturgeon?
A buck will see you three times, and hear you twice, but he's only gonna smell you once.

Legal to spear pike in MN, legal to spear sturgeon during season in WI. If you ever want to try strugeon spearing I would set ya up (shack and spear) with a place to stay as well 8-)
