Bird ID
This thing had a nest way up in a tree and there were several other of the same birds with nests in the same area. They made some sounds that were just crazy sounding and the nests we’re huge. Some kind of crane? I’ve never saw this in the Michigan woods.

Re: Bird ID
Kind of hard to tell, but it looks like some sort of heron. I can't tell which one though. Got any other pics?

Re: Bird ID
Looks like a great blue heron. If there are a bunch you're probably in a rookery. They are big birds, make a loud "quarrrk! Quarrrrrk! Quuarrrk!" Sound.

Muddy your right, I looked blue heron up on google. That’s what it was. I see a lot of sand hill cranes but rarely those. At the end of the quarrrrk was a loud vibration noise they made. The nests looked like this

Could you add an audio link of you making this noise so we know exactly what it sounds like?

we call those 'good god birds' in my circle, because when they pass by on a foggy morning (close but not visual) and sound off, the natural response is 'good god'...
