Like every year Oct 1st is an exhilarating date for upland bird hunters. However after the first weekend in Nov it’s another chapter as we prepare for rifle season…
Our common group of hunters is made up of 3-brothers that I have been fortunate to have known since before I was a teenager.
This mark’s my 31st year @ camp but is to be a little different due to a sickness from one of the wives.
The youngest of the brother’s wife was diagnosed with breast cancer during the spring and has had an aggressive treatment that will sideline him for a year.
He has gladly picked up the children duty full-force and has been an absolute best friend to his wife in this time of need.
Of course the rest of the family and friends have done their parts but not close to the recognition that this family has seen so far.
– God Bless all and don’t forget to give an extra hug/kiss to the one’s you love…
Fun times as usual although we had a big void.
This was Monday's tailgate. Sat & Sun birds/rabitt got cleaned b4 I could get back and snap some photos...
Total was 11!
Dad and 16-year old son

Appreciate the perspective.....life is precious, and should never be taken for granted. My father use to have a saying, " don't judge a person for what they have to do, judge a person for what they choose to do". Well wishes for your buddy and his family.
Nice pictures....and some good shootin.
