my sons and myself one early evening spotted a young one with still it's spots crossing a road a few away

we also have one behind our house we only saw the prints

when asking our Fish and Game Dept there response unlikely
funny thing one of the Wardens we know supervised the release of a couple breeding pairs in the Quabbin area
I guess if they admit what they did the people here would freak out

Are you sure eDc??? It seems there are soo many myths about what has been or has not been released at the Quabbin I cant keep up? I dont doubt cougars are passing through, but release them??? Its not like we have population problems relative to, too much wildlife of any species. The last rumor I heard about Quabbin was that breeding rattlesnakes were released!?!? The only thing I know about the Quabbin is 1) is I believe the largest whitetail in state record was taken there 2) Its was way over hunted when they opened it up 3) The moose have moved in and the deer are basically gone.

Not doubting what you saw, but ite seems there is always a Quabbin story going around.

Yes I am sure, know the warden that supervised the release

The rattlesnakes to our knowledge have not yet been released
we had a big to do with the biologist about releasing them even the governor was involved on the subject

The cougars are not passing thru they are here to stay, I have one living up the street from me

We've seen them crossing the roads in Warwick a much younger animal it still had spots with a very long tail
we stopped to look at while it paused and looked at us

I think it would be awesome to see one in the wild!

After I cleaned out my shorts, it would be a cool story I could tell the grand kids some day

Latest DNR confirmed cougar sightings map.

Last report was in Colgate again just west of Menomonie Falls. Seems to be sticking to this area for the last month. Surprised it hasn’t moved on yet. Must be feeding good in the area.
