In Hales Corners, about 10 years (check that) ago a Mink farm was vandalized and most all minks were released. Some were recaptured and land was sold off...that's all I know.
Meanwhile just other day my wife and I were doing yard work and we observed what looked like 2 minks, long body and long tail about the size of a ferret and totally black. We called the local nature center in Whitnal park and they verified that there has been sightings of such critters,,,,kind of cool. I'm hoping with my cudde back I can capture some photos or video, will see....
p.s. there seems to be plenty of chipmunks, squirrels, flying squirrels and rabbit...birds etc...so I don't think at this time they are causing damage to the other critter population.....

That's cool. Looking forward to some pics. They could be some sort of weasel too.

There are wild mink all over Wi, just not that common to see them in town.
Any creek, river, lake usually has a resident population.
Plus trapping pressure is way down.
