Cougar hit by car??

Unread postby Dewey » Sun Feb 19, 2012 6:06 am

Anybody know if there is any truth to this?

Reason I ask is because I know for a fact there was at least one roaming around this area about 4 years ago.

I received it by e-mail and I know in the past plenty of these end up being false stories that actually happened out west somewhere.
.........................................................................................................................................................

This Mountain Lion was hit by a car between Eagle River and Woodruff, Wisconsin

Department of Natural Resources had to come and put him down.

He charged the DNR warden in the process.

Look at those PAWs!

Well......I just did some investigating and will answer my own question!!

This is not true. I actually happened in Arizona.

Here is the true story....... http://www.snopes.com/photos/animals/mo ... on2007.asp

I guess it's not too far fetched considering the number of cats roaming around WI lately.

That sure is a HUGE cat! estimated 200-220 lbs!

I just wish we could get a real fix on how big the cat is. His paw is bigger than those 5 gallon buckets. I have a feeling the picture was presented in a way to enhance the size of the cat.
You can fool some of the bucks, all of the time, and fool all of the bucks, some of the time, however you certainly can't fool all of the bucks, all of the time.

In the story from Arizona it said the paw was 8" across.
