Put in for the annual draw yesterday. I have only been applying for 3 years...no luck yet. Anyone else apply up there?

I have not, but I think after an encounter with a good bull in Nova Scotia last year while bear hunting I'm going to start.

Seeing that you are right next to Maine, I gotta believe that you have a fair share of nice moose roaming your neck of the woods? Let us know if you are drawn and if so, post any hunt pics! Good luck!

How is the whitetail hunting up there? When is the whitetail season? Just wondering for big-woods tracking of slob bucks.

Hunting Whitetails in NB has been very tough for the last 5 years or so since the last big ice storm . Ther bigger bucks are few and far between . If you talked to anyone that hunts whitetails in Nb they would be sure to say the same . The whitetail season starts in late Oct for special open season for bow and it goes for 3 weeks only . Now in Nova Scotia we are just the oppisite right now , our Whitetails are looking good , Now we are not over run with monsterbucks but they are here . Our season here in Ns starts in Sept for the early bow season and goes to Dec 14th .

Is AntiCosti Island part of Nova Scotia? I remember seeing some outdoor shows where they were hunting on the island seeing like 100 deer per-day?

No Sapeg Du Anticosti is where you probably seen the show , but is not part of Nova Scotia . They do have many deer but they are not a deer IMO that you would dsay have big bodies or big racks . They sure do shoot a pile of them on that island though.

Looked like a fun "shoot" more than a hunt. They were practically honking the truck's horn to get them off of the two-track at times. Maybe a 100-incher would be a monster from the looks of the hunt.
