Any elk hunters here?

Unread postby Sneaky » Tue Mar 09, 2010 9:11 am

Elk hunting is my passion. I'd rather talk about elk more than anything else. Who's the elk chasers around here?

I've got a few. Let me see what I can dig up.

If elk week could last forever....I'd be okay with that.

Here's my second elk which was taken this past October with my .270. All my elk hunting has been on public land, and I can't imagine doing it any other way. This bull is my most prized posession. I've never put so much work into something and got so much in return. Next step is to kill one as big or bigger with my bow. Nothing like hunting elk in the rut with a bow....nothing.

So far I'm just a "wannabe" elk hunter. I would really love to try it some day. I bet the experience would be an instant addiction!

You will be addicted at the first bugel you hear coming closer and closer to you. ;) This sport is extremely addictive. If you love turkey hunting, imagine 100X the excitement!!! We also hunt public land but I was fortunate enough to have a buddy in Denver who turned us onto this spot.

It is. For the money I spend on elk hunting, I could afford to do some really nice deer hunts. But deer hunting doesn't compare to elk, so that's where my money goes.
