Good Luck Arrowbender

Unread postby Uncle Lou » Sun Sep 19, 2010 8:18 am

Cousin Mikey (thats what I call him) leaves tomorrow to chase elk in Colorado with his little bro Charlie (I call him cousin charlie by the way). They get into them everytime they go.

Good luck guys.

Look forward to great pics and stories. And next time I am in MN or CO I want to eat some elk sausage.

Got an update from Mike yesterday. Hunting has been tough so far with few elk, he says the muzzleloaders put some pressure on them.

Mikey hasnt checked in on the BEAST with his pics and story yet. He was successful in Colorado. He took a 5X5 bull on his last day with his bow.

Milking his hunt just like another forum member with his bear hunt (yes that would be Bridge)

Another MN boy took an elk out west. Congrats Mike.

I will kick him in the but tomorrow to get some pics and stories out of him

Thank you for all the kind words. It was really quite a milestone.
It was definitely one of our slowest hunts out west as far as bugling success (not to be confused with Killing success). We saw plenty of sign but it seemed that instead of vacating the county they just went nocturnal and yet we didn't seem to bump any while hiking all the hot bedding areas.

This guy we caught just out for a stroll. It was 6 days after the last of the muzzle loaders. Maybe they were starting to calm down a bit. Anyhow it was just a gift and I accepted.
And it's awesome!
I really can't start to explain how hard of work it was to get him dressed and down the mountain. Boy, does that make you feel old!
