MN outlines Wolf season details...

Unread postby Uncle Lou » Mon May 28, 2012 10:43 pm

..and seeks public comment

Highlights of the article
2 seasons Nov 3 to about the 18th, and Nov 24-Jan 6
6,000 tags with 5% to non-residents
Quota of 400 wolves, MN DNR estimates they have 3,000 wolves
Tag cost 30$ for residents and $250 for non-residents
Public comment period on line only until June 20th.

See link for article and info on public comment. I will probably comment on the number of tags (could easily increase) and the cost for non-residents. Based on what happened in Idaho and Montana, they didn't hit their quotas and I dont think MN will either. They could easily increase the number of tags and reduce the cost and raise more money. It will no doubt be mandatory reporting and they will shut the season down if they reach 400 so why not sell more tags.
